Qualifications
Dr. Haller attended the University of Michigan where he majored
in psychology and graduated with honors. He then attended
medical school, also at the University of Michigan. After
a rotating medical internship in Wayne County, Michigan, he
continued his training with an Adult Psychiatry Residency
at Duke University in Durham, NC. He then further specialized
with a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University
of Michigan. After fulfilling his military service at Fort
Stewart, Georgia, where he was the director of the mental
health unit, Dr. Haller joined a private practice in the Maryland/DC
metropolitan area in 1979. He has been practicing here ever
since.
Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
in Adult Psychiatry, in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and
in Forensic Psychiatry, Dr. Haller is one of fewer than 100
psychiatrists in the entire United States holding all three
certifications as of 1998. He has lectured in educational
and professional venues and testified as an expert
witness in criminal and civil cases, yet he maintains
a small and unique private
practice catering to the emotional needs of children,
adolescents, and adults.
